Mistake #5 – Spot cleaning vs “Q-tip” cleaning

Show buyers your home has been well maintained by making sure it sparkles. Dirty homes are a big turnoff for buyers.

Mistake #6 – Not showing a room’s proper function

Most buyers have a hard time visualizing how furniture fits into a room, so you need to show them. A dining room turned into an office or child’s playroom will make it difficult for potential buyers to imagine the room being used for its original purpose. Restoring the room to its original function will help them see how the room might work for them.

Poorly lit rooms can be a turn off for most buyers, especially during evenings or overcast days. Corners with inadequate light can also make a room appear smaller. To brighten a room:
